Reality Shows

I don't know what it is, but I think there's something not right about reality shows. . . espeicially "The Bachelor". I'm sure there's no way I could adequately articulate WHY I feel this way, but I do. Wish I could even start to describe what I'm talking about, but I can't. I'll let you know when I have put my finger on what I find so objectionable.

Between now and then. . .for what it's worth: I hate reality shows--especially the Bachelor.

I would have to agree with you on this, most of the time. We really like Biggest Loser, and the Amazing Race, though. However, I think these two shows are different from most reality shows, especially the Biggest Loser. Talk about people changing their life, and giving you inspiration to do the same...and the Amazing Race doesn't vote people off which I think keeps it from being trashy and dramatic. It's a race. You come in last, and you're out. It's that simple.

Yeah, but guess what we're watching tonight (AFTER 2 and 1/2 hours of the SAME real-life, messing w/ people's lives, soap operah as LAST NIGHT). . . that's right: The Bachelor.

My new theory is that you are just rejecting your inner girl. Come on man, you gotta embrace your feminine side! Girls night out, reality shows and NOT cars are where its at!

I don't take issue with being in touch with my masculine side. In fact, perhaps a "thanks for the compliment" is in order. ;)

Some day, I hope to put a post up about the "Idaho Farm Boy" heritage I claim. It might explain some of the 'if you work hard, you can do it' mentality that permeates the majority of my paradigm on life. At the same time, it might seem border line "contraversially conservative" when it comes to a few of my other beliefs about black and white lines between moral boundaries that we all (regretably, myself included) seem to be so willing to cross. But that post will have to wait.

Yep...that's right. I watched the bachelor. Not the whole thing, but just the last 3 girls. I think that it isn't the best way to spend your time. I mean, really am I going to fight to say its better than reading scriptures or meditating? But really, we all have our dumb things that we don't want to give up. Mine is watching people be idiots. I love to knock em down and make myself feel better. That's right! I'll admit it!
